Aqui estamos ! We are yet in Tampico ! Our travel started from Milano Airport tuesday later afternoon, yes later cause our flight Milano-Madrid resulted delayed for 2 hours at 2050 local time ...cause the airplane Iberia was coming from Londonistan UK ...with delay (too much control at the Heatrew Airport in these days....) This delay BOICOTTED totally the planned meeting with the friends of AER Madrid ....Pedro Sedano and Martin Estevez planned to see us at Airport .....but the 2 hours arrival made impossible this meeting.... CHE SFIGA !!!! The flight had no problens and I and Roberto also got a free tickect to eat in Milano Airport for free before to start our travel.... however our flight Iberia Madrid-Ciudad Mexico started in time at 0150 local time ...and even arrived 1 hour of the scheduled time.... at 0600 local time in Mexico City.... 16 C temperature in mexico City and very foggy as usually ....the sunrise is at 0730 local tine... All ok .....but ....first problem we had the info to go to M2 immigration gate .....about 700 meters ...from our gate arrival .... and here we got ok the paper signed ....but ...to get our baggages ...we had to go at room 25.... more 600 meters..... there in a real BOLGIA DANTESCA ..... we finally got our baggages.... we also tested the famous GREEN-RED pass light.... both GREEN .... after that ... we had to visit the MEXICANA AIR chekin office .... more 500 meters ...... and surprise no carriles are allowed outside the departure - arrival area.... so you need to utilize PORTEUR .... A MAN WHO CARRY THE BAGGAGES.... AND YOU PAY IT WITH THE PROPINA YOU ...WANT .....HI! well all this exausted us a little.... but finally we get our tickect signed ...to keep in GATE B the internal flight to TAMPICO .... this solution has been made cause the bus Mexico City-Tampico is quite slow...and you need 7 hours.... our original flight 1010 hours had been unufied to the following 1110 hours ... the flight is 35 minutes .....you understand the difference .....the cost is naturally quite high ....but if you have time problems... 225 US $..... The flight however resulted good and with not so many people.... .....the arrival ....perfect... the Hotel Posada car expecting for us outside the little Airport .... with air conditioned ....the car.... outside 39 C degrees.... really steamy .... but surprise no clouds.. sunny ...instead of the ...predictions....of WEATHER CHANNEL ... the storms in the area had passed just the evening before with lot of troubles not only in Tampico area but also in Mexico CITY..... SO ALMOST IN THIS PARTICULAR WE HAS BEEN LUCKY.... so at 1230 local time we arrived at HOTEL POSADA de Tampico... Very good hotel with 3 swimming pools....and 2 floor big building with lot of green and nice flowers... So we seattled our baggages....and we were ready to start our visit to the radiostations of the city..... ./.. will follow soon or later ...it depends ...I am utilizing a free PC at the Hotel Reception and ....it is a fight with many boys who want to play with the PC CAUSE IS FREE...

As you may have ....understood here in Mexico the computer service is not so
easy to be found....
In Tampico the free service at Hotel Posadas has been awailable after 0100
in the night after the bouys and girls went to sleep.... but
saturday-sunday night I has been invited to an interesting DX session along the
DOCK OF THE BAY of Tampico near the lighthouse dock at 2300-0245 local time ....so
really hard to send a message about what happened ..... in Tampico.... and now
sunday evening we are yet in VERACRUZ .... 700 Km south to Tampico ...and first
the tentative at HOTEL HOSTAL de CORTEZ failed cause their free service ...utilize
a CABLE SYSTEM TV ...and this system doesn't work at evening or night.... so I
am now 2240 local time at INTERNET CYBER POINT "LA NETA" in Avenida 1* de Mayo
(200 meters from Hotel)but ...they close at 2300 hours..... so .....The friday
day at Tampico has been very hot and we visited 6 places where are located the
local Radio stations....
First we have seen The stations at Diario DE Tampico in Altamira Hidalgo 800 a
long street..... 94.50 MHz LA CALIENTE .... playing Musica Grupera Mexicana....
the "viejito" at the enter door very friendly called some one...but due to the
hour 1430 ...SIESTA TIME ..no one has been found ...and finally a ....teenager
arrived...very polite but .... unfortunatly the advertising office was declared
closed .... so ...neverthless our efforts ...nothing of nothing..JESUS MARIA
FONSECA the boos not at the station.... so pls try saturday morning.... a pity
cause many TAXIS had the sticker sticked on of LA CALIENTE.....
Better in our second visit to Radio EXA 95.30 MHz we had lucky the kind
assistence of DJ Diego Valerio ...he told us many info and also kindly given us
the STIXs...Radio Exa has 21 relay stations in the whole country ...and almost
all have issued the local frequency sticker. At same place : PRIMERA AVENIDA
N*209,Colonia LOMAS DEL CHAIREL operates RADIO LA MEJOR 100.1 (EX BEST FM...changed
name just 30 days ago) So we got also the OLD STIXs of LOS 40 ..... so naturally
we finally BREAK THE ICE ...... hi!

personal email and he is very interested to be in contact with international
people also in English language.
From that place we arrived always by TAXI (price is 20 or 30 $ Pesos Mex. about
2 or 3 Euro !!!!!) to the head office of GRUPO RADIO RAMA located at the Colonia
Tolteca and at the reception we had the good idea to offer some of the Italian
Stixs I have with me.... the result was very good... we got Stixs ofLOS 40
PRINCIPALES (it is same idea as the one of SPAIN.... in fact GRUPO PRISA de
ESPANA has a part of the ownership)and Arroba 97.7 MHz ........will be continued
..... the shop owner of the LA NETA close at 2300 hours .... so ...the story
will be continued .... ????

Today monday 1st August we visited the Veracruz radio stations.... lot of fun
and adventures....
But I need to tell to you what happened in Tampico back to friday afternoon.
......the climatic level in Tampico at 1600 hours local time measured 36 C
temperatures...the air so hot it sounded look like to burn ...
we arrived at the building of GRUPO RADIO RAMA located at Benito Juarez 506/a
Colonia Tolteca 89160 Tampico , need to say the "colonia" are just the quarters
in Tampico and help to find the area where is the street...
We found some young workers at the reception of the stations: Arroba 97.70 , LOS
40 96.90 , Romantica 950 kHz ,LA MEXICANA 660 kHz , LA HUASTECA 90.10 ....
DANIEL SANI the DJ of LA ARROBA remained attracted by the many Italian
CALCOMANIAS (this is how they call the STIXS in Mexico!) so he promised to take
to the Hotel Posadas reception the ones from Arroba ! .... and he mainteined his
promise... very kind! so if you want to get the rare ARROBA ! STIXS you may

We got some STIXS from LOS 40 ...this station is partly owned by the GRUPO PRISA
of SPAIN.... in Spain in fact the giant SER network has an FM channel called :
LOS 40 PRINCIPALES. Miss Sante Fe Martinez Garcia (Programadora) also very kind
showed to us the studios of the stations and we do also some nice photos ....

good moment to visit them ...at the enter we found Jose Manuel Martinez Gomez
the Gerente Administrativo... he knows a lot about the Tampico broadcasting
situation.... in the corridor we seen soon the ORIGINAL TX of 810 kHz XEFM 810
kHz almost 50 years old !!!! so we do the photo.... I wonder howmany Dxers in
the USA and Scandinavia has been able to listen to this TX .... so a real

So we take some nice photos at the studios..... the following stations groups we
visited was located in a large building with a lot of security .... this is
cause at the same plave is TELEVISA del GOLFO an important TELEVISION covering
large part of TAMAULIPAS state... Grupo Siete Radio address is : Valentin Gomez
Farias 407, Colonia Otomi, Tampico. These the stations operating Radio Ranchito
XEOLA 710 kHz, Radio Tampico 980 kJz, ERadio Tampico 980 kHz, DOBLE W Radio 1030
kHz , SONOVIDA XES 1240 kHz , SOLAR 1270 kHz XERRT , ROCKOLA 1330 kHz ...so we
got finally some nice calcomanias of EMISORAS DE LA ONDA Larga = MW swtations)
We also had permission to do some photos....
Time was running again and it was yet 1830 hours.... it is however interesting
to remark the Mexican radio stations has visit times at 1000-1400 and 1600-1830
some even till 1900 hours (7 PM as say in Mexico)
A good start in Tampico who helped a lot to break the ICE ...... and for sure
the warmest friendly caracter of the Mexican .....helped even more ....
We went back to our good Hotel Posadas de Tampico... it is located a bit outside
the city ... but is the more large in Tampico... and in good position if you
came with BUS service or Jetplane.... they have 3 swimming pools, and it is 2
floors.... they offer TROPICAL FRUITS at arrival... they have an ICE machine in
the corridor.... but ....they are located just 300 meters from EXA FM station...so
it is not a good place to do FM or MW listenings.... WE were very exausted after
the jetplane travel ..... so we stay at Hotel and we had dinner.
The restaurant is top quality service but naturally if you test Italian plates
you may be ....a bit deluded... the SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE were ...floating in the
plate...hi!
and my TAGLIATELLE MARISCOS ...also were floating ....hi!!!Surely better POLLO A
PLANCIA with potatoes....
At 2200 hours we had just the force to ....arrive at the room....and to stand up
the bad....with air conditioned to make us safe from the outside 35 C
temperature.... AT NIGHT !!!!!!! you must test it... hi!
Next will be the Mexican Meeting of Diexistas of Saturday 30 july...... I hope
to be able to compile sooner .... it depends till what time I may stay at the
administration office of the Hostal de Cortez.... yet 3 hours here ...free of
charge .... hi

Well dear readers ... I hope to be able to picture the travel ...but in 4 days
we had so many happenings it is really hard to do ....cause principally .... the
problem is to find the internet connection...
I may remember in Greece and in Canada and in Spain we found internet facilities
also at nighttime .... here in Mexico seems more hard work.... in Tampico the
internet cyber points close all at 2200 hours max ( located at CYBER LA CASCADA
, Francesco I MADERO 512) .... and the free service at Hotel Posadas
unfortunatly attracted too many young people so too much troubles....... so I
started to have lot of problems....to send my messages...
Here in Veracruz is better ..but the internet LA CYBER close at 2300 hours and
the free service at administrative office (so access is controlled and no boys
and girls are admitted...) unfortunatly it utilize a CABLE access SYSTEM which
after 2000 hours is not operating....
Well this monday afternoon I choose to stay here at Hotel office to write the
...experiences of our travel ..and Roberto after a good swimming in the Mexican
Gulf (with no TIBURONES) has been visting some radio and television stations in
the city .... later he will tell me his adverntures...hi
So I will now tell you how has been the 11 Congreso Encuentro de los DXistas
Mexicano....
After a ...pantagruelic breakfast at Hotel Posadas ... prixce 12 Euro in two
.... where I eat 6 differents cakes and a big plate of white UVA (rice wine)
and red UVA ...2 bananas .... 6 glasses of milk cold .... we pick up a TAXI...managed
by a CANUTO Taxi driver.... sounded normal ..but in reality instead to leave us
in front of the meeting place .... he let us infront of a college ... and asked
75 Pesos which is the triple !!!!!! of a normal ride... so after that we started
each time we pick up a taxi to discuss the cost of the ride... to avoid
surprises....
The meeting took place at Universidad Interamericana del Norte Tampico, Colonia
Volantinin at the hall of the University INTER AMERICANA del NORTE of Tampico (located
frente la Gasolinera de Avenida Hidalg it is long 20 km!!!corner calle JESUS
ELIAS PINA.... cause a more easy place to arrive and cause the Hotel Posadas
said it was not allowed to NON residents at Hotel to remain all the day at the
Hotel....
However we just walked 300 meters and after a DANGEROUS crossing of the main
street going to TAMPICO (thanks a semaphoric light) we arrived safe .... but
surely sending to the CANUTO Taxi driver many MONTEZUMA good wishes to stay 3
weeks at the "LAVABO"...hi
At the enter we found soon .... Rafael Gustavo Grajeda Rosado coming from
Veracruz and staying at Hotel Capri in the city center area... the price is just
190 $ Pesos MEX .... Rafael is specialized in METEO FAX reception with display
of MAPS with his portable PC. So we started to talk about our hobby and how we
entered in the listening hobby... and after some minutes arrived Juan Miroz
Lozano the organizer ....and some more DIEXISTAS :Miguel Angel Rocha Gamez desde
Chihuahua...... y Leonardo Lopez Hernandez coming from OAXACA from the south
part of Mexico (near Chapas) he kindly took us some color photocopies of
stickers printed by a group of Radio stations operating in OAXACA and he visited
.... and they just geave to him color ...photocopies...very nice....idea... another
Diexista CESAR FERNANDEZ DE LARA GARCIA coming from Veracruz also very much
interested to TV DX and Utility. Mrs Kathy Kilian from USA unfortunatly his
husband dead early this year and John Kilian surely has been a great friend of
these meetings.....
After 1000 hours 20 people where arrived so here what happened: Unfortunatly the
Tampico location did not helped to get more partecipants from abroad ...and the
tentive to invite Manolo de la Rosa and his wife from CUBA did not get good
results cause too late organized and too much burocratics matters for the VISA
to Mexico from CUBA.... so if you look at the 75 partecipants in 2002.... These
the talks who has been in the meeting....

He confirmed the good reception in Tampico Bay of TV signals from other Mexican
areas and even from USA, and the problems to have ES Esporadics in Tampico

This the most exicing argument, cause Rafael also had a PC to show how the maps

At 1300 hours we had a raffle with a kind offer of two portables receivers (new
ones) and a copy of WRTH 2004 offered by Roberto Pavanello... Leonardo the lucky
winner of the WRTH 2004.... and from the Vidow of John KILIAN FROM usa (dead
recently) an album of photos souvenirs of the Mexican meetings John partecipated
and in same Album some of his QSL cards collection.... to be took as a good
memory of his friendship with all the Mexican Dxers....

After we moved in 8 to a restaurant of the central Zocalo Cristal area in
Tampico to eat some Mexican food .... but before I wanted to buy some 70
postcards to send them to some of my friends contact in the planet.... so Juan
Miroz suggested a shop selling them at 4 $ Mex each one.... usually you get them
at 8 or 10 $ Mex each... We got them and we moved to the very near
restaurant....
I had with me the photos of my home DX Room ... and the many pennants attracted
the attention of the friends.
At 1500 hours by TAXI we moved to the area of the LAGUNA of TAMPICO sea port ...
there is a big relaxing area with tables in madera and chairs to sit down under
the trees to ...enjoy the brisas coming from the gilf... and the big BRIDGE of
TAMPICO (to go to the south) standing in a very special panorama..... very sunny
and with however the breaze not so hard to stay... but with many PINCIU (a
variety of pingeons... in Italy we have same in TORINO area ... many PICCIU....)
and they were floating over us...offering free ...shits ...on our table... ha ha
ha...
Rafael and other friends put some aerials and the PC table top connected to his
portable Realistic offered some photos of meteo fax from NEW ORLEANS and from
FLORIDA of NOAA ORGANISATION in USA.
I listened with the DEGEN 1103 kindly got to TEST from Giampiero Bernardini ....
equipped with 2 filters FM MURATA 53 kHz and 110 kHz
Well that place sounded to be too much crowled by signals ...so in this view
point NOT A GOOD PLACE to do FM or MW listening .... but good for METEO FAX map
tracking.... hi!
Also Roberto enjoyed to look at how sounds the MAP of the METEO FAX... but after
to have seen the 3rd ...look like the 2 precedents almost same area ..... he
started to listen to SW..and he gets signals from :

HRVC Honduras (not so strong), 5025 Rebelde, 6020 R.Victoria Peru, 6140 R. Reloj

Mil , 6185 R. Educacion (very good signals), not hrd 2390 HUAYACOCOTLA (try
please from ....BOLOGNA !!!!...without receiver ...), 6045 R. Universidad San
Luis Potosi.....
HOWEVER THIS GOOD GET TOGETHER REMEMBER TO US THE ONTARIO DX Association .....
in Toronto north garden area... in our Canada trip... in fact listening is
possible everywhere but you need to try the good place without RF noise on FM
and SW...
So I offered the idea to try in another place at night ...and Juan Miroz said a
good place to test was the DOCK of the LIGHTHOUSE of Tampico Bay...1 Km in the
sea .... so we organized to do it ...after a lunch at Hotel Posada.... I and
Roberto do the lunch the other preferred to test a local giant store selling
everything....
Next message will write about what you may listen on MW and FM ... from TAMPICO
in the middle of the sea...hi!!!! quite exciting... so bye bye for now !

Before to leave from Veracruz I have the opportunity to tell you what happened
in the last night in Tampico...
After the dinner Roberto preferred to stay at the Hotel Posada ...to avoid the
milliards Mosquitos ???? may be ... I wait the friends at the lobby ... no
chanche to may use the free internet cause as usually little boys and girls
stand up the¨PC .... so at 1030 PM Rafael and the other active Dxistas arrived
with a CARRO CAMIONETA to go at the place to try to do listenings.... we took
the street to go to the industrial area of Tampico there is located a Raffinery
and the sea port...and after the road to go to the FARO... this is 1000 meters
cement dock ..sufficent large to pass two cars.... but many cars yet there
stationating ...with some kinds of little local ...orgies ..oppps party ...hi
naturally... no lights apart the ones of the cars passing... we choose a ...quiet
place ...with next car jeep... with YL and YM..making some kamasutra activity
with bottle of tequila on the top of the jeep... quite interesting place indeed
to be ..if you have infrared glasses...hi....
So we started to listen to our preferred stations...mee the FM and MW band...
Rafael the METEO FAX stations... with his PC connected to the portable Receiver.
The place resulted very good...no local RF noise..and MW with no noise.... here
the stations from EEUU I got in the DEGEN 1103 with filters 53 kHz and 110 kHz
and just telescopic antenna.
KTTX 97.50 KINGSVILLE TEXAS, KLEY 94.10 ROCKS TEXAS FLORESVILLE (town near
S.Antonio), KMXR 93.9 CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS "GOLDEN 93.9" the slogan...and
playing "STEVIE WONDER hit THE DOCK OF THE BAY" indeed the right song in the
right place at the right moment...., KBXA 92.50 KINGSVILLE,TEXAS of NATIONAL
PUBLIC RADIO service ,KAWZ 88.70 S.ANTONIO, TEXAS better say a station relaying
KAWZ on 88.7 in S.Antonio...., 106.3 KPSO FALFURRIAS TEXAS "106.3 MEMORIES" the
slogan , KMIQ 104.9 ROBSTOWN , near Corpus Christi, KZEP 104.5 S.ANTONIO ..great
classic rock station in S.ANTONIO , KCYY 100.3 "Y 100 COUNTRY MUSIC" in
S.ANTONIO (another great station !!!) ....and finally two UNIDs 101.3 sound ID
KTPX ... but not found in my lists and a funky soul station ID "BEE 97" on 99.7
MHz .... any suggestion folks ??????
Naturally the sea marine breaze and the particular happenings on the next cars ..made
the listening even more excitings ... a RED LIGHT DX NIGHT ... something you
must test...hi!!! if you will visit Tampico Bay ... test it pls....
The MW offered so many signals on the Expanded band 1620-1700 kHz almost on
every channel from EEUU... and the only exotic station I got it has been 1540
kHz NATIONAL RADIO ...Bahamas with Id and news on the hour....
I guess this is sufficent to say the Tampico visit really has been positive in
all aspects and really thanks... gracias amigo Juan Jose Miroz the organizer of
this meeting...
At 0245 we were back to quiet Hotel Posada ..and I had finally access to the
computer..no ninos de la rua breaking ballers ...hi
Next to be featured is Veracruz ...but also very important what happened in the
BUS travel Tampico Veracruz ----

The internet problems continues ... after the very good service found at the
Veracruz Hotel HOSTAL DE CORTEZ ....PC in the Administration office (free of
charge !!) in Villahermosa unfortunatly the luxury Hotel Cencali (a real
fortress in the city south area) had times of PC NOT ok ...cause they closed the
office at 2300 hours ...and open at 0900 .... and we had to visit the local
radio stations.... Well a bit better here in Campeche at the magnificent Hotel
Baluarte ...on the dock of the city .... they are open till 2300 and open at
0700 !!! 1 hour cost 10 $ Mex .... this is about 0.80 Euro ..... so I may
continue our travel history...

Sunday 31 July from Tampico.
The ADO BUS line have very good clean sevice and the air conditioned is usually
15-18 *C inside .... but nevethless Roberto had some problems ...with the ...opposite
of Montezuma anatema .... may be called Pizarro anatema...??? hi !!!!!
Luckly he had the coat got (...hmmm) found aboard the IBERIA Jet plane ...cause
at ADO BUS they don't care if you suffere the low air conditioned...hi
Bus departure at 1030 in Tampico... the Bus station is clean and well organized
and we had no problems to board the bus.I myself love iced air of the north pole
so 15-18*C is a good temperature .... the problem however it has not been the
bus service (I may say very good) ...but with the roads.... I supposed some ...problems
of traffic but the problem has been the 180 Highway ...from Monterrey to Cancun
is a real KILOMBO ...in the first track almost till Villahermosa .... especially
Tampico to Poza Rica it has been a real nightmare ..... in some tracks they are
doing rebuilt the road completly.......this is good for the future generations
...but very bad for the travellers going to south along the coast..in many
tracks very is only one way.. in Tuxpan the enter of the city is totally a caos
for closure of the streets ...so we lost 50 minutes in a giant traffic caos
..... almost same in Poza Rica .... in this STOP I had a ...little problem... in
need to go to the rest toilet... I went out of the departure section and found
it ... the cost to ...piss is 3 $ Mex .....about 0.30 Euro .... but if don't
have coins you are ...lost..hi.. I had my coins..so no problem... but after I
wanted to return to the bus ...and ..if you don't have your tickect ...you can't
return....hi !!! so I needed 5 minutes to explain my problem to a young (16
years ???) civil guard ... but finally I got permission to go to my bus.....ADO
... AMEN !!!
After the little town of Papactla we found the Coast called COSTA ESMERALDA ...
full of many resorts ...of very modest quality ... after 82 km of coast !!! we
found Punta Delgada a stone hill going to the sea ... and another coast called
COSTA VERDE for 42 km ... also full of little restaurantes with incredibles
names .... "EL CONECO VERDE" "LIVERPOOL HOTEL" .....
After Jose Cardel town finally the 180 is a real HIGH WAY with two ways to go
and two ways to back..... just for 32 km.... Well we lost almost 2 hours .... so
we arrived in Veracruz bus station around 2000 hours...
On the bus I listened mostly of the time on FM cause on MW the noise of the BUS
air conditioned did not permitted to listen to MW...apart the very local
stations MW during the stops....
My attention has been attracted by stations of the CADENA RADIO MAS de VERACRUZ
...operating for the indigenal people 106.50 relay at CERRO AZUL cover a long
coast area... and they play very good cultural level programs....for exemple I
listened to "LA ESENCIA MUSICAL DEL MUNDO" with program from Radio TARIFA (Andalucia
Spain) and Beethowen life story and musics.... another program is "CADENA QUE
PASA" in connection with EEUU chain located in North Carolina and sending cross
greetings EEUU-MEXICO and MEXICO-EEUU ..many phonecalls live....this was on
101,30 MHz ..from HUAYACOCOTLA ...yes the same station operating on 2390 kHz ...
we heard also on SW very poor signal in // 101,30 MHz at NAUTLA bus stop....
another CADENA MAS station heard 95.7 MHz at Mecayapan (50000 watts!!!) Tuning
the FM dial ...on 105.50 MHz I get very interesting big band music look like in
Mexico they use to do for special live happening...and indeed it was a very very
special event ...the inauguration of LA VOZ DE LOS CAMPESINOS from Huayacocotla
annoncing 10000 watts for the SIERRA NORTE area of Veracruz ... the program was
live from the bosques (forest) near Huayacocotla with many people celebrating
the opening of the real first local station INDEPENDENT operating by the native
people... so I heard also talks messages in local language dialect.... indeed a
very pleasant listening.... also heard special messages coming from AMARC radio
stations operating in Mexico and Argentina, Peru..... the station is operating
in connection with Radio Huayacocotla which usually repeat CADENA MAS programs...
but on SW close at local sunset cause the power energy is cut .....
..... I got they signal ...even more week also in Veracruz .... but not in the
Hotel ....Huayacocotla is about 45 km from Veracruz..in the sierras area.
In Poza Rica 101.9 LOS 40 offered good modern music, station FM usually annonce
after every song and they have very attracting jingles with sounds effects. They
have indeed many advertisings...but not look like in Italy ... there you may get
even till 5 minutes of nostop idiots advertisings... Same is on MW...so to
report a Mexican station I suggest try just to log their advertings if ...you
listen to a commercial station .... Cadena Mas has not so many commercials but
they id often...
So even if the traffic JAM was very high cause the High WAY (???) better the LOW
WAY 180 ....I enjoy the FM band and the inauguration program of LA VOZ DE LOS
CAMPESINOS from HUAYACOCOTLA it has been GREAT !!!

We have just finished to see the Campeche radio stations... a real desaster
...hi!
So I am back in the apsectic room of the internet at SUPER HOTEL **** BALUARTE
in a freezeee room ...12*C ... after having been outdoor for 4 hours.... with
40*C ...really shocking.... hi!
So I take this opportunity to tell you about what happened in Veracruz on monday
1st august ..... the town of Veracruz has been the most important sea port of
Mexico for some centuries... particularily in the beginning of the Spanish
domination the marchandises for Europe almost all passed from this place...the
Hotel Hostal de Cortez is not a luxury hotel ..but his position is very very
good... on the street border to the seaside ... like in Nice the more famous
Promenade des Anglais.... however has same metalchairs to sit down and many
palmitos to stand daylight in the shadow with some breaze from the Ocean ...
The beach are with thin brown sands .... and big umbrellas offer shadow...the
local authority rent bad chairs or simply chairs to sit down the big umbrellas
.... Roberto had the opportunity to test the sea .... it is very clean and no
stones or other basuras or alghas (look like in Rimini)are in the green waters..(in
Rimini usually brown...).. and the water temperature is around 30*C so ...very
nice place to swimm ....for hours... hi!
I had internet time free at the administration office cause I had to write the
story of my travel ..... the internet time is 1000-2300 hours.
Our room at 2nd floor very large and comfortable ...price 60 Euro in two , with
breakfast.... dinner not included.
The room had a balcony looking at the sea... so I seen a beautiful sunrise for
one day ...and less beautiful the second morning due to clouds... the listening
resulted quite problematic on FM band due high RF level noise and some spurius
signals.... but very very interesting on MW..... almost every channel offered a
station every
10 kHz .... and the Expanded band 1620-1700 kHz even more from EEUU. (this will
be in next message)
After a large breakfast we Hotel we started our visit....
We started at Multimedios Radio at Zamora 364 the main station on 900 kHz relay
XEW 900 kHz in Mexico City, but they have also local service, a young assistent
geave to us many pocket notes but no stickers at the moment ....sorry... the
station has two enters in same block .... so this explain 2 addresses in the
telephon book paginas Amarillas .... I guess however the telephon book often is
not really up to dated ...unfortunatly .... and it is beeter to ask the
cooperation of the TAXI driver.... if the TAXI driver is not too aged in his
bread.... hiso LA NUEVA RN 96.5 mhz , RADIO MAR 99.7 mhz and LOS 40 101.7mhz are
located at this address.
Curiosely on the telephon book they are listed at ZAMORA 365 !!!
instead of 364 .. We asked to the young people working at the stations if this
will be corrected on next edition and he said i don't know ! hi !!! may be a
test to see the level of the bread of the visitors ???
While talking ...a Dj passed and look at my stickers from Italy and he said he

Second LA GRUPERA 1090 kHz and 103.70 AMOR FM ... both of ACIR RADIO GROUP,
located in Avenida Salvador Diaz Miron 2625 Esquina Heroico Colegio Militar,
Colonia Centro,91700 Veracruz.
The station is quite far from the city center, and the Avenida is very very long
and with lot of traffic... However the secretary luckly geave to us some STIXs....
4... hi...but said the Gerente was busy in a meeting staff .... in other words
he had no time to loose with us...
So we asked for another meeting at 1630 in the afternoon and he said it was ok....
Next to be seen RADIO YA FM ! located at 6floor of central street Melchor Ocampo
119 ,Veracruz 91700 ..... same place is located Radio Onda 1430 kHz and LA U de
VERACRUZ XEU 930 kHz historical station ...many years ago RADIO NUCLEO DE ORO (they
had a very nice pennant in the 60's) we got permission after 40 minutes wait
!!!!!! to see the studios and to do some photos.... but we got only 2 stickers
...sorry "fellas".....
So we arrived at Radio Rama located at Benjamin Franklin 4 a very little street
.... the stations of this group are : 800 kHz "LA PODEROSA" in // FM 106.9 MHz ,
1010 kHz LA MAQUINA TROPICAL. At the recepcion we met Salvador Garcia Montes Ham
operator XE1EQ..... so then we said we are international listeners the "ice" was
immediately broken .... suddenly all the staff of the 3 stations arrived to see
us...and we were literally covered of many souvenirs .... and MANY STIXs .....

We spent 30 minutes with great pleasure and surely the most friendly station we
visited in Veracruz....Salvador Garcia Montes is the Chief engineer and he
worked also for other stations..... before to arrive to AVAN RADIO GROUP RADIO
RAMA.
He is also FM - TV Dxer and he showed us a picture of his personal antenna ...in
plastic and alluminium ... to catch distant FM TV signals ... he got Costarica
Tv for exemple. ...it sounds look like a loop antenna (large 3 meters) ....will
contact him by email to get the schema by email ....
After so great meeting time running 1315 hours we try to find Radio Formula at
Nicolas Bravo 1103 ....but unfortunatly we found this address desert .... they
moved .... another telephon book mistake.So we asked the help of a Taxi driver (luckly
young ) and he found new place of EXA FM 93.30 MHz and other MW stations... in
Calle Habaneras 602 al final Jardines de Virginia 94294 BOCA DEL RIO !!!!!!so
not in Veracruz ...but just few hundreds meters south ...this is why not in the
Veracruz yellow pages the new address.The building is really very big one with
giant murales adverting the stations.
So we found Jose Lopes Arturo Zabaleta Dir de noticias and an old Italian man
living in Veracruz fron 15 years .... collaborator to the stations.... we got
some souvenirs and also some rare stickers ..... many differents models of LA
MEJOR 100.5 MHz
Quite exausted and "boiled" by the hot temperatures and by the Sun +10v level
... we went back to the Hotel .... me to play internet in the conditioned air
room ..... Roberto going to ...swim in the Mexican Gulf ....
At 1600 hours the friend seen in Tampico arrived Rafael Grijeda Rosado wanted to
geave me some of his duplicated radio materials .... indeed very kind....He also
solutioned the misterious station reported by an Italian visiting last year the
Mexican coast and reporting to have heard an Utility station on 6977 kHz ... in
reality he heard CENTRO DE PREVICION METEOROLOGICA del GOLFO de MEXICO operating
from Veracruz every day at 0900, 1500, 2100 hours local time. They have INFORME
METEOROLOGICO (20 minutos in CW fonia and 10 minutos en voce in USB mode) so
NOTHING AS XDD -XDP stations CLOSED DOWN some 5 years ago !!!!! the correct
frequency is 6976.5 kHz power is 700 watts....Really thanks Rafael for these
informations.... we know quite well the normal knowing level of people belonging
to the AIR is look like the Marianas abyss..... hi!!!
So around 2100 hours we had te dinner at the Hotel Hostal de Cortez restaurant
.... not so bad ...but you need to remember if you eat SPAGNETTI ALLA BOLOGNESE
to ask "SECOS" this mind with no water floating in the plate... yes in Mexico

We are arrived in the Merida this evening thursday 4 August .... in Europe yet

But equally I was positively surprised of the good results with a receiver which
cost just 50 US $$$$.... DEGEN 1103 ... a pocket receiver but with good
possibilities ... but you need naturally good lists to do the FM BANDSCAN....or
the MW EXPANDED BAND BANDSCAN....
So another quite long travel was expecting us from Veracruz till Villa Hermosa in
Tabasco.... the details in next message...

El Décimo Primer Encuentro Diexista Mexicano. (in memoriam John Killian) 2005
Después de un breve viaje de 22 horas por autobús, llegué a mediodía del día del
inicio del Encuentro DX, el viernes 29 de agosto, a Tampico, Tamaulipas. Poco
antes de llegar contacté vía telefonía móvil con Javier Miroz, hermano del
organizador nuestro amigo Juan José Miroz Lozano, recibiendo yo la noticia de
que había sido cambiada la sede del Encuentro. Esto se debió a que el Hotel
Posada, lejos del centro, a última hora no prestó el salón de eventos en donde
se planeó originalmente se iba a realizar el encuentro. Esto fue por que no se
totalizó una cantidad mínima de huéspedes en ese hotel que participarían en el
Encuentro. De cualquier forma para muchos de nosotros el hotel en cuestión
presentaba a pesar de un importante descuento, una tarifa elevada para cada día
de hospedaje, y con menor cantidad que la correspondiente a un día ahí pudimos
pagar tres y algunos hasta cuatro días en otros hoteles con baño, TV con cable y
aire acondicionado en el centro de la Ciudad, en donde de antemano al menos yo
pensaba hospedarme.
Así, la sede se cambió a la Universidad Interamericana del Norte, un lugar que
me pareció muy adecuado para nuestros eventos. Sobre la Avenida Hidalgo, misma
en donde se localiza el Hotel Posada, pero casi en el centro de la ciudad, yo
tomaba un autobús urbano y llegaba a la Universidad en un viaje de pocos minutos.
Inclusive me fui una vez caminando, llegando en menos de veinte minutos desde mi
hotel a la sede.
La ciudadana rectora de la Universidad nos atendió amablemente. Durante la
inauguración del Encuentro, guardamos un minuto de silencio en honor a nuestro
querido hermano John Killian, quien cada año venía desde Virginia, EUA, y nos
acompañaba en nuestros Encuentros. En la inauguración estuvieron presentes
estudiantes y profesores de la Universidad.
Después de la inauguración nos fuimos a cenar, y luego nos encontramos en una
orilla de la Laguna del Carpintero, en el Parque Metropolitano a unos minutos
del centro de la ciudad, para hacer la primer noche diexista. Inicialmente nos
fue un poco mal, las condiciones de recepción no nos favorecían y teníamos que
resistir el ataque de los mosquitos. (mejor dicho y si me lo permiten, de "las
mosquitas" ya que los machos no chupan sangre, y al igual que las hembras se
alimentan de savia de las plantas, pero las hembras requieren de proteína animal
para encubar, y la sangre es la fuente más fácil de obtenerla). Así, me fui a
caminar y a unos metros de en donde estábamos, había numerosas tortugas de buen
tamaño y no lo podía creer: también unos cocodrilos. Inmediatamente me puse a
hacer unos cálculos de cuántos platos de sopa de cada tortuga y cuántos pares de
botas podían salir de cada cocodrilo pero la mirada un poco terrible y directa
que me dirigieron unos turistas ecologistas presentes me hicieron devolverme a
la mesa en donde estaban lo radios. En ese momento, comenzó a soplar un
refrescante y agradable viento que hizo descender la temperatura, se llevó a los
mosquitos y casi simultáneamente se fueron abriendo un poco las condiciones de
propagación.
El sábado 30 fue de gran actividad. Tuvimos tres conferencias, sobre Diexismo en
televisión, recepción de fax meteorológico y emisoras piratas, impartidos
respectivamente por Juan José Miroz, el incansable experimentador diexista
Rafael Grajeda de Veracruz, Ver. y Darío Monferini de Milán, Italia, quien es un
diexista mundialmente conocido y editor de Play DX, y que estuvo celebrando el
XXX aniversario de su boletín con un viaje a México. En las tres conferencias
los ponentes nos entregaron material impreso para facilitar la comprensión del
tema. Yo repartí paquetes conteniendo un impreso para difusión del diexismo, una
golosina, engomado de mi estación de radioaficionado XE2ITX, tarjeta de
presentación y folletos turísticos de Chihuahua, Nuevo México y Arizona. Darío y
Roberto Pavanello nos obsequiaron engomados de emisora europeas. Posteriormente
se sortearon algunos regalos, como un receptor donado por nuestro amigo Catarino
de México DF, un Manual Mundial de Radio y TV cortesía de Darío Monferini, y dos
obsequios que trajo Kathy Killian, viuda de John: su álbum de QSL y un receptor
Grundig Yatchboy, portátil y de gran calidad, que por cierto gané yo, y buena
falta que me hacía un receptor de estos. Después de comer, fuimos de nuevo al
Parque Metropolitano, estuvimos ahí desde media tarde hasta las 8 de la noche,
con los receptores. Esta vez las condiciones fueron mejores, hasta pudimos
recibir guiados por Rafael Grajeda, radioemisiones meteorológicas en fax con
varios receptores y veíamos los mapas recibiéndose gradualmente en dos
computadoras portátiles. Igualmente hicimos barridos en diferentes bandas de
ondas cortas empleando varios receptores simultáneamente enfocados, así podíamos
comparar la calidad de nuestros radios e identificar más rapido las emisoras que
escuchábamos. No obstante teníamos deseos de seguir con esta actividad, así que
después de cenar, y de visitar una gran tienda en donde Cesar Fernández de
Veracruz, Ver., encontró accesorios para construir alguna antena, nos
encontrarnos en el Hotel Posada, de donde partimos en el vehículo de Adolfo
Murrieta de Guanajuato, Gto. a la playa, en donde tuvimos muy buenas condiciones
de recepción. Seguimos recibiendo fax meteorológico, emisoras VOLMET –servicio
meteorológico para aviones en vuelo-, comunicaciones de aviones a sus empresas,
escuchas excepcionales en 49 y 41 metros, etc. Darío Monferini sintonizó
emisoras de FM de Texas, situadas a cientos de kilómetros de donde estábamos,
mientras que yo podía captar TV de Monterrey y Texas y con color en una TV de
bolsillo. En todos los casos únicamente empleábamos las antenas de látigo o
telescópicas propias de los receptores, esto es, no usábamos antenas exteriores
como de tendedero, L, dipolos o Yagi. Una agradable sorpresa nos la dio KBS
Radio Corea, al mencionar en la sección de aniversarios del programa "Antena de
la Amistad" el día 2 de agosto como Día del Diexista Mexicano. Estuvimos hasta
las tres de la mañana en esa actividad.
En estas jornadas diexistas siempre había más receptores que personas para
operarlos. Por ejemplo, llevé yo dos equipos de bolsillo, uno de ellos un
transceptor ICOM IC-T90A scanner que emite en bandas de 6, 2 y .75 metros de
radioaficionados pero que también recibe de .5 a 999.995 Megahertz, y otro ICOM
IC-90 que recibe desde .5 hasta 2500 Megahertz , tanto en radio como video y TV
a colores, además del Grundig que acababa de ganar en sorteo. Por primera vez en
nuestros encuentros, las hora-diexismo superaron y con mucho, a las horas
restantes correspondientes a conferencias y otras actividades. Comentamos sobre
la posibilidad de hacer una acampada diexista en algún lugar cercano a Perote
Ver., antes de finalizar este año, y de que los próximos encuentros también
tengan este tono más bien práctico que teórico. Sin desechar totalmente las
conferencias y otras actividades, claro, pero se enfocarían más bien a la
práctica diexista.
No quedamos en ningún acuerdo para escoger la sede del XII Encuentro Diexista,
aunque yo presenté nuevamente las candidaturas de Ascensión, Chih. y Cd.
Delicias Chih., esta última sería por el diexista, radioaficionado, locutor y
muy bien relacionado amigo Jesús Araujo con mi apoyo. En el caso de que sea
elegida Ascensión, Chihuahua, organizando por su amigo y servidor quien escribe
este texto, pues el plazo para que acepte yo para que tomemos el acuerdo de que
mi ciudad sea sede, sería a más tardar el último día de octubre próximo.
El domingo 31 en la mañana nos reunimos en Restaurant Sanborns también ubicado
sobre la Ave. Hidalgo. En el desayuno que sirvió de clausura al evento,
platicamos de algunas experiencias y ahí se despidieron la mayoría de los
participantes. En la tarde en compañía de Kathy, César, Leonardo de Oaxaca Oax.
y mi nuevo amigo Luis Pineda de Playas de Rosarito B.C., recorrimos algunos
puntos de la ciudad. Fuimos a comer, a Catedral, a comprar algunos recuerdos en
el mercado de artesanías y conocimos la histórica aduana portuaria y observando
también el movimiento de grandes barcos en el Río Pánuco. Nos despedimos y
finalmente en la noche tuve una reunión final de intercambio de impresiones con
Juan José y Leonardo en una de las plazas del centro. Después, una triste
despedida, salí de Tampico en la mañana siguiente, permanecí unos días en León
Gto. y posteriormente en un pueblo cercano a Cd. Delicias, Chih. en donde pude
probar tranquilamente mi nuevo receptor Grundig, en donde me sorprendió recibir
a las dos de la tarde y con buena señal a Radio Mil y a Radio Universidad de San
Luis Potosí.
En Cd. Delicias, moderna y tranquila ciudad, centro económico de un próspero
valle y rodeada de otras ciudades pequeñas y numerosas poblaciones rurales, y
situada al sur de Cd. Chihuahua a la que se comunica una moderna autopista
libre, visité al gran amigo Jesús Araujo, quien me reafirmó su interés de
efectuar dos Encuentros Diexistas más bien prácticos, primero uno de carácter
regional –sin exceptuar a interesados de otras partes del país y del
extranjero que deseen participar en este evento- en los primeros meses del
próximo año 2006 y posteriormente un Encuentro Nacional, en cuanto los clubes
diexistas le demos la oportunidad. Por cierto, Jesús arregló y me entregó en ese
momento mi receptor Panasonic RF 3100, que es mi primer receptor digital
comprado allá en 1983, y al que ya había dado yo como perdido por irreparable.
Aquí bien vale como término de esta crónica analizar algunos detalles de este XI
Encuentro. Si bien el repentino cambio de sede molestó en serio a algunos
participantes, debemos reconocer que estuvo fuera de la responsabilidad del
organizador, que rápidamente encontró un muy buen lugar para hacerlo. Sin
embargo, es necesario evitar repetir hasta donde sea posible una situación así.
En realidad es costoso para quien cubre sus propios gastos, llegar a un hotel de
esta calidad, quizá eso desalentó a muchos de los posibles participantes para
asistir al evento. Y es que fuimos muy pocos los asistentes, personalmente
extrañé a muchos de los que habitualmente asisten. En verdad que Tampico está en
el noreste, fuera del área en donde se han llevado los Encuentros Diexistas, o

Well after a relaxing wednesday morning at Hotel Hostal de Cortez in Veracruz
...sending email messages in the freezy administration room where you may use
internet free of charge from 0900 hours (great service indeed.... especially
cause not admitted breaking ballers boys and girls...) We moved to the Bus
station of Veracruz to bring our reserved bus to go to VillaHermosa .... but
.... with great surprise we found our tickect was valid not for wednesday ....
but for thursday .... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... my mistake do not control carefully
the day of the ticket..... so ...Roberto went to the ADO office in the same
place and asked for a tickect change.... and YES we got it... THE LAST 2 places
.... the alternative was to pick up the next bus starting 3 hours later...and
scheduled to arrive at around midnight in VILLAHERMOSA ....
Probably the VIRGIN of GUADALUPE loves us ...and she made the
miracle to find the last two places....
A bit shocked for this unexpected happening we started the travel with usual
temperature inside the bus 13-15*C ...and outside over 40*C .... the 180 HIGHWAY
(????) better say the 180 LOWWAY all in a rebuilding works... kilometers at low
speed behind giant trucks ...the stops at San Andres Tuxtla offered panoramic
view of very unexpected street names ..."Calle de los ninos perdidos" "street of
lost children" ...for exemple.... Also Soteapan stop almost unbeliable ...main
street was stopped for some works ... so the bus had to go around the village
.... crossing riverstreets ....
The next iper caos happened to enter in COATZACOALCOS ... and also not better in
MINATITLAN 63 km more southern along the coast....

The list booklet "THE MEXICO FM DIRECTORY" 2005 edited by WORLDWIDE TV FM DX
ASSOCIATION from EEUU edited by JIM THOMAS resulted a precious support , it
costs just 12 US $$$ to Europe , in cash to : P.O.BOX 501, SOMMERSVILLE ,CT,
EEUU ZIP CODE 06072.
Naturally there are some mistakes but generally speaking it is a good support to
monitorate the FM band if you travel in Mexico....Well finally after many many
stops due to traffic jam ...works on the roads... we arrived at VillaHermosa
with ONLY !!!!! 2 hours of laterness around 2145 hours..... exausted .... and
ICED !!! hi!!!!
Need to say something I did not said before .... in Mexico almost everythere
...little or big towns they have a very practical system to make ...lower the
speedy of the cars... YES .... they put some little elevations of stones cement
or metal balas on the streets...roads...highway ....so you need to almost stop
if you don't want to crash your car,truck,bus.... this may be a good idea ...if
not there are too many of these ...obstacles ...and imagine if you drive at
night with no lights on the roads.... CAN YOU IMAGINE this on A1 Italian HIGHWAY
Milano-Roma ??? or same in France Highway Nice-Lyon-Paris ???
Simply MAD .... well in Mexico you found these everywhere .... Another matter
...in same 180 High WAY (???) you find stops to pay !!! the passage of bridges
on little rivers ...this is cause the regional governs needs money to go on the
construction of the double way HIGH WAY 180 from Monterrey till Cancun .... some
parts are ok ... but most of Tampico-VillaHermosa 180 is ...still just one way
to go one way back... similar to the local street from Novara till Mortara in
Italy ...... and I guess almost no one of you dear riders know about this local
road in the north Italy....but we assure is more large than 180 HIGH WAY .....So
finally the great problem in Mexico are the roads .... and tourists .... after
the first travel ...in Mexico by BUS or rent a car ...change to AIR TRAVELS ...
well WE have chosen a mixt travel system ...some bus ADO GL quality...some
jetflight MEXICANA AIR and LITORAL AIR ..... and till now we have been able to
do our travel as planned ...even if ...sometimes .... it has been quite hard ...

So finally we arrived at CENCALI HOTEL **** very nice ...in the middle of a
jungle of trees and very large .... park area ....Access controlled by police
guard men.... luxury quality double room and breakfast enclosed in price ...60
US $ TWO people !!!!!In Italy for such price you can't find even to a ONE STAR *
Hotel ...YES the price of the Hotels in Mexico are very good ....

is better if you wear (in the evening-night) long dresses and t-shirts .... or

Our room air conditioning was running at MAX ...with 15*C ... great the
temperature difference was around ...25*C .... so outdoor 40*C at night ...unbeliavable
how to sleep without ..air conditioned ???
Unfortunatly no chanche to use internet cause at hotel they close their service
at 2230 and open at 0900 hours.... so not possible for me use internet.
We found channel 69 TV cable .... VENUS ...24 hours sexy movies ..... so ...good
night ....

VillaHermosa has a nice name ...but unfortunatly ..I have not found nothing of
HERMOSO in VILLAHERMOSA ...may be this is cause we stay in the city just 12
hours ... but ... there are some parks ... but how stay in the park with 40*C in
the shadow ???? For example the taxi metal doors resulted so hot ...you can't
touch them ... I experienced so hot only in Ciudad Ojeda in Venezuela (the area
near Maracaibo with Petrol under the street ground level) ..... that was 50*C
and my shoes let the imprinting in the street.... OK in Villa Hermosa not so
high temperatures but ...humid yes very humid ....
First we visited GRUPO ACIR in Paseo de la Ceiba 102 ...at 3rd floor ...no
elevator .... (but Gerente office are at 1st floor) ..time 0945 .... well too
early ...Gerente is coming at 1030 ...but after 45 minutes wait ... we realized
.. Gerente was not
interested to meet two strange people coming from Italy to see his
station.... hi
570 kHz + 650 kHz + 940 kHz + MIX FM 90.10 MHz (they have nice sticker) + AMOR
FM 96.5 MHz (they have also STIXs...seen many on TAXI...) ...see later what
happened ....hi
So we let the ACIR place a bit ACIDS .....hi!
To pick up TAXIs in VILLAHERMOSA resulted a bit more hard than in previous towns....
usually TAXI are quite cheap in Mexico ... 20-25 $$ MEX each travel.... no
taxameter.... this is 2-3 Euro each travel ...for such price in Europe you can't
do a Taxi travel surely...
Usually TAXI drivers are very quiet (some one too much ...) but young Taxi
drivers are more open to talk and to ask from there you are coming ... if you
say Italian..soon they talk about football ... Inter, Milan, Roma, Juve ...the
teams they know.... we found only 1 TAXI driver speaking in favour of the BUSH
govern .... all the other 60 ...had different opinion...hi
Some Taxi driver are very kind... one gave us all the correct address of the
stations we were searching for.... others called via Radio the head office to
ask for correct address ...this I guess is very good .... and I may say Taxi
drivers in MEXICO are very friendly ....naturally if you speak in Spanish ...
and you say YO SOY ITALIANO ..... So we went to EXA FM in JUAN ALVAREZ 301 ....
and we found ...closed and transferred ...but where ???? The usual Yellow Phone
book paginas Amarillas (color de la Mierda ???) ...So the next
Taxi ...helped us and found the correct address ...GREAT SERVICE!!!! now EXA FM
88.50 MHz is located at : Avenida RUIZ CORTINES 1208 Fraccion OROPEZA 86030
VILLAHERMOSCA ...... station operates in // with MW 740 kHz.
The kind secretary geave us ONE !!!!!! EXA FM sticker.... sorry Roberto ....
After a tentative to find Radio Formula at PAGES LLERGO 116 (this number doesn't
exist !!!!!...if not on the MALEFIC paginas Amarillas de la p.... madre...que
la...p...) also the street was stopped by a local workers in HUELGA !! a tipical
street block of traffic....HUELGA DURA CONTRA EL GOBERNADOR LADRON !!! (on the
flags put in the street).. we found by very chanche ...200 meters distant from
this street block Radio Tabasco located at JOSE' MARTI 101, 86000 VILLAHERMOSA
.... address OK ...station on 790 kHz + 1050 kHz ...but almost no materials ...
if not a newspaper celebrating 20 anos on MW .... (edited in 2003) with many
color photos ...not bad item for my collection... but sorry no stickers .... one
very old on the studios door (printed in 1993...)
So we had another moment of lucky cause we asked the help of another Taxi driver
to found the new address of LA MEJOR 98.30 MHz ...and he found it :
LA MEJOR 98.30 MHz ... MALECON y PASEO TABASCO , TORRE AGRISA , 2nd PISO 86000
VILLAHERMOSA..... WE GO UP ... and we found the kind secretary who geave us 4
stickers ..... finally something .... Time was running and 1200 hours yet
playing from iper giant BELLS (sounds look like the ones of S.Peter in Roma
!!!!) of the CATEDRAL of the Nostra Senora de Guadalupe .... the kind proctector
of our travel .... so we rapidly went back to hotel ...pick up our 4 baggages
and more speedy to the Bus station ..
The Bus station of VillaHermosa has one enter to go to bus and one go out for
travellers arriving .... usually the PORTEURS for baggages are in the place of
departures .... so we had no problems to find one (the cost is called PROPINA...and
you are free to choose the value ...20 $$ MEX is usually OK for 4 baggages....)
So ...allright and still 22 minutes before departure .... so I had an idea ...
to look at TAXIs with the RADIO AMOR sticker ...to ask for one to bring from the
car .... CRAZY MONFERINI...may be ... but if you are a collectionist you will
try all way to get the item missing... so after one attempt not good (found an
old TAXI driver) I found a quite young 19 years I guess .... he first supposed I
was joking but ...after having seen 100 $$ MEX money .... said OK !!! you may
take it.... so I get it ...and ...Roberto was ready to make the historical
moment with a photo !!!!
I guess the more rare Sticker of the travel till now ....
The Travel from VillaHermosa to Campeche resulted not so full of problems ....
but quite fun ...at bus stop in a rustic restaurant called RESTAURANTE GUTIERREZ
15 km after the town of 18 de MARZO (30 minutes stop ...cause the drivers eat
gratis ..cause they stop everytime there ....we saw SOME MAIALS live free in the
near green grass area near the RESTAURANTE.... (MAIALS = PIGS).... this is quite
rare in Italy ..... hi!!!
I had time to do a quick bandscan ..and on FM just 2 ...TWO FM stations... and
on MW ... 39 !!!!! differents radio stations all Mexicans (at 1700-1730 hours
local time).... so you have an idea how much is developped the MW in Mexico ...
in same areas even more than FM band.... 1030 kHz from Campeche with high rock
metal music....
After this .... natural food RESTAURANTE ... we had 3 more hours of driving in a
low jungle free trees and green plants ... quite cloudy weather with some
rainfalls...we saw also a TORNADO moving along to the coast but almost 50 km
distant from us.... it was beginning with large basement ..... but luckly going
to the opposite direction...
In fact Campeche and Yucatan areas are the most effected by Tornados
and Hurricanes ...the last one called Emily ...passed just 120 km north to
Merida in mid july .... and went to crash in TEXAS....but demaged lot of houses
in Yucatan and surely broken the balls to almost 90000 tourists in the area of
Cancun and the Yucatan cost...
Our arrival time in Campeche at 2100 hours ...only 90 minutes later ..... than
the scheduled .... so we arrived at Hotel Baluarte

Another good choose ...located on the litoranea street ...in front of the dock
of Campeche ... very luxury ...and with a perfect internet service open
0700-2300 hours .....
Just few minutes after our arrival it started to rain quite heawily ... but no
problem for us .... again our Saint Virgen of Guadalupe helped us .....
So next will be the Campeche tour of local radiostations ....

... it seems thanks to this cyber cafe LA HABANA located in MERIDA open 24
hours ... I have been able to up to date our story travel ....
So tuesday morning we get breakfast at the nice giant hall with buffet
service of BALUARTE HOTEL ....you may wonder what is eating Monferini ???
nothing of particular a big plate of PLATANOS, and Ananas ... some 6-8
cakes in the cold milk (my preferred morning drink) ...that's all folks...
Campeche is a real particular town ...old fortress on the Ocean coast of
Mexico and northern town on the coast .... it has been many times under
the fire of Pirates .... so the Spanish invasors fortified it very well
.... and this "BALUARTE" are the symbol of the city ... and a big tourist
attraction....
The city has quite interesting museums too see...but due to our little
time ... we started our radio stations visit at 0930 hours.
So we started from Grupo Acir with Presion CAMPECHE operating on 98.9 MHz
and in // with MW 1280 kHz ...located at Avenida Luis Alvarez Barret 11
CAMPECHE 24000 ...not far from our Hotel Baluarte. We got surprisely 2 stickers
...the secretary said they were printed in 1995 ....!!!!!!!!!
Second to be seen the stations of the NUCLEO COMUNICACIONES SURESTE
located in the same building of TRIBUNA CAMPECHE a local newspaper ...in
fact we found 10 people writing with typewriters of the 50's ..... yes
TYPEWRITERS !!!! located at TAMAULIPAS 15 , Colonia Santa Ana, 24050 CAMPECHE.
Very kind people ....but sorry no stickers ... we got one T-shirt (with
the joy of Roberto who is a collectionist of T-Shirts) of Radio Amiga
100.3 MHz at the same address are other 5 stations all operating on MW
band...1320 kHz ECO DE LA MURALLAS (24 HOURS) 1430 kHz LA NUMERO UNO 1430 , 1560
kHz LA VOZ DE CAMPECHE, XEESC 820 kHz RADIO ESCARCEGA PALIZADA , XETH 1290 kHz
RADIO PALIZADA ...no way to get stickers .. not printed from lot of
years... the walls outside the building are painted very well and Roberto
took a very nice photo !!!!
After this we try to find Radio Rama studios ... and this time it happened
something really unexpected... on the MALDITAS Paginas Amarillas we had
the address : Radio Rama , Resurgimento 78 ..... we arrived and we noted
in front on the other side of the street... of this address an antenna ...
so we drinnn the door at 78 .... and an old friendly aged woman opened ...
we explained our problem and she said ...ohh yes my sun is an amator radio
station ... we started to think he may be was related to Radio Rama ....
after arrived the lady married to the man ...we enter in the nice house on
the seaside border ...very comfortable house indeed ... and she explained
his husband was working at the University ...so not at home...but he had
nothing to do with Radio Rama .... very kind she phoned to Radio Rama
...and so we understood... the telephon book put for 3 years !!!! this
wrong address only cause in front of number 78 there is the transmitting
antennas station of the Nucleo Comunicaciones Sureste ...who has bought
the Radio Rama Group... for some reason the telephon book let the wrong
address .... imagine how many letters went to wrong address ????
This is pure...MADNESS .... so please DO NOT UTILIZE the info in the WEB
of Mexican Paginas Amarillas...they are 80 % wrong ...
Well we stay 30 minutes in the house at Resurgimiento 78 .... and I may
say I am AMAZED for such kindness .....
We say "GRAZIE" to the kind lady and gently aged lady ... and we go to see
another REAL !!!!!!!! radiostation:
1410 kHz Radio Universidad XECUA it is located at ORQUIDEA y NARCISO S/n ,
COLONIA JARDINES.... quite far from the city center ...almost 8 km ...
unfortunatly the gerente at this time of the year (cause the University is
closed) is in holidays ... so we just found a collaborator ...and he had no
permission to show the station at visitors .... however again the station has a
very nice murales painted and I also saw a very old window sticker ... but no
chanche to get anything.... but almost the station exist and it is operating
daylight time in August.... Last to be seen Radio Mar 920 kHz XETEB .... and a
sad news ...the station has been closed down some 6 monthes ago ... we saw the
old building .... and even a big window sticker on one of the windows...located
at Calle 53 Esquina Avenida 16 de Septiembre .... just 300 meters from our Hotel
Baluarte .... So you may delete this station from your lists please....
Quite depressing situation in Campeche ...about radio stations .... we get 2
stickers and 1 T-shirt.... madre de Dios que desastre...
So back to Hotel .... and at 1400 hours we moved to Bus station to pick up
another ADO BUS service to Merida...
We crossed a little the CHAPAS area and we had just a 2 hours and 30 minutes
travel... no stops travel...quite good 180 High Way ...and speedy 110 km .....
at 1730 hours we arrived at the city of Merida... the city is quite in good
conditions and many colonial buildings are very nice to be seen outside...
another aspect is the streets of the center are numbered with numbers from
48 to 74 ...crossing with numbers from 33 till 69 .... this makes easy to
find streets ...
Our hotel is a Bestern Western called Hotel Maria del Carmen this WEB show the

where Roberto spent some relaxing hours .... hi!!! floating in the
meaddle of many "FOGLIE" of the trees ...hi!!! However the Best Western quality
we tested in Canada ..in this case has been quite distant ..... for exemple the
elevator remained broken for 30 minutes ...and we are at 3rd floor.... hi! On
the other hand the restaurante quality is very good and we eat good food...but
they don't serve ITALIAN PASTA .... hi!!!
The air room conditioner is working only at FUN AIR ....
But after all the cost of 50 $ US for 2 people I guess is a good price ....
Well this is now the up to date situation .... now is yet friday ..today we will
try to visit the local Radio stations.... the report will be this evening always
from this good Cyber internet point called LA HABANA RESTAURANTE.....
(they say some centuries ago here met all the pirates of the Mexican gulf !!!!

Friday 05 August has been devoted to visit the radio stations in Merida area....
sunny day on Yucatan ...but again very hot and almost up 44*C the termic
sensation.... but usually I start to ..smell after 35*C ...hi. The breakfast at
Bestern Western (or better the Worsen Western Hotel Maria del Carmen ...hi ! ...not
only elevator problems ... but also the water is only hot ..the key door not
opening well....if you want to have a renfrescant "ducha" you may forget it ...only
hot water is coming out from ducha.... no ideas why ??? the air conditioned
system is just FUN AIR .... the breakfast is not at buffet ... but served by
Sleepings...CAMEREROS ...quite slowly .... if you call a Taxi at desk ... is
look like to win at a lottery ...after 20 minutes if you are lucky...the olimpic
swimmingpool is full of trees green "palmitos" went down from trees in past 3
weeks .... I guess this is sufficent ???
But after all what do you pretend for just 50 US $ ????? for 2 people in a mega
suite double bads room at 3rd floor with glittering skyline view of the Merida
city ???
Taxi in Merida seems to be the number one problem .... even if you call them by
phonecall you may wait till 45 minutes before to see ONE coming ... no ideas why
.... one arrived with yet 17 $ Mex to pay ... quite amazing.... imagine to pick
up one in the street with horrible temperatures .... looklike to be in an
ALTOFORNO .... here the SUN is at maximum radiation 10UV+ .... and to stand
under the sun is surely dangerous... Roberto luckly had a headcover .... and
usually I wait under shadow .... or in the radiostations reception with
airconditioned....
So a really hot day ... We started from RIVAS GROUP ...I had with me a letter
they sent to well known Giovanni Bellabarba in 2000 year... the letter signed by
Chief Engineer Ing. Guillermo Farfan Cervera ... and we met him in person ...
station group is located at Calle 62 N*465 entre calle 53 y 55 (need to explain
.... in Merida is quite important to tell at TAXI driver there is located the
address you want to visit ... inclusive the more near calles .... this is cause
often number of houses are missing .... and you may loose minutes to find the
exact building...)
So in may 2000 Bellabarba sent a letter to XEFC 1090 kHz ...to try to get a
souvenir document for his collection (he call these documents QSLs) but in
reality they have no real value of QSL reply cause he has no receiver...
personally I like to collect other items from worldwide radiostations (pennants,stickers,pins,badges,keyring,t-shirt...postcards
Dj...photos...) well Bellabarba enjoy TO COLLECT reply by letter or QSLcard ....
surely not a polite way to do our hobby... which however is JUST AN HOBBY...surely
not a WORK or a competition to get more countries verified in all LEGALS or ...sometimes
illegals way as they do in the entire world ... a man called JESUS some
centuries ago said..."the one who is perfect may act with a stone against the
man who is doing something not good".... well I am not perfect ... but I have
found useful informations from the material collected by Mr.Bellabarba .... and
in this case the letter from XEFC 1090 kHz resulted very important ...cause at
the guard man at the door enter (metal door ironed enter) it has been sufficent
to show the letter ... and we had a great contact with the station ....
Ing.Guillermo very kind said you are welcome here to see our station.. and we
stay with him at his office for 1 hour !!! talking about many matters ... look
like propagation, old histories... SW in Mexico ... he got a copy of PLAYDX
special issue of the TAMPICO meeting ... and I geave to him a copy of Monitor
Italian Magazine with broadcasting arts informations in Italy.... so he show to
us a book printed in Mexico with all the commercial informations about the
Mexican radio stations town by town .... look like a WRTH guide ...but only for
Mexico ...a GREAT terrific book for us ... and he said "this copy is for you
!!!!" so we solved the problem to find correct informations for the next
stations to be seen ...even in Merida ....
So the "SOLONI" rompicoglioni (don't translate please) of the hobby listenings
who has often condammed the unpolite activity of Bellabarba are SERVED ... in
this case a document I got from Mr. Bellabarba permitted to meet a very kind
people ...and we got a very precious source of info about the Mexican radio
stations .... no more Yellow amarillas fake phone book to be utilized to find
the radio stations to be seen .... but an up to date source... thanks to this
book we found the existence of another group of Radio in Merida called Radio
Capital (later the details). OF CORSE EVERYONE WILL CONTINUE WITH HIS IDEAS
ABOUT THIS MATTER ... but I guess the informations I will pass ...will be useful
EVEN to the NEXT edition of WRTH 2006 !!!!!! or you idiots SOLONI will say ...NO
THESE INFORMATIONS are not good cause you got indirectly thanks the letter you
got from Mr.Bellabarba... in this case I guess YOU are not correct ... I know
...most of you loves to have up to dated news.... don't you ???
We got many stickers from JUVEMIL 92.1 MHz (yes attention is really JUVEMIL !!!
cause they are operating in // with 1000 kHz !!!) and a few from 93.7
Superstereo the other MW stations of the group are at present moment without
stickers. XEFC 1090 kHz + XEQW 550 kHz + XEYW 760 kHz + XEMYL 1000 kHz + XEME
570 kHz.....
So we know now the Grupo Rivas in 2002 sold out 2 stations XEW 710 kHz and XERRF
1150 kHz .... to Capital Radio Group .... and more incredible they sold XERRF
the call letters stand for RAFAEL RIVAS FRANCO !!! the founder of the FIRST
radiostation in Merida in 1930 year.... no ideas why they do it .... the Capital
Radio group changed 1150 kHz frequency to 860 kHz with name "LA EXPLOSIVA DE
MERIDA".... and at present is CAPITAL 860 ...
We got few k-ring souvenirs and we do some photos of old mixer of the '50 .....
55 years old !!! no more utilized ...and also the GATES original 1940 TX !!!
still working....
On a Wall some photos ...one of the 1940's showing two Mariachi singers at the
show of 1090 kHz which they used to perform live ...and YES ...a large cloth
pennant was in the photo .... XEFC vertical call letters gold printed on violet
color.... WWWOOOOWWW a real interesting photograph ... A great starting making
us very happy....
Ing.Guillermo wanted to show to us how to go to visit Radio Universidad de
Yucatan 1120 kHz located at Calle 60 N* 491/A con calle 57 (about 400 meters
distant) the studios are located at 3rd floor of a large complex built about 100
years ago.... so each floor is very high ....
We said hallo and many thanks to Ing. Guillermo of Grupo Rivas ...and we met the
collaborator of Radio Universidad de Yucatan .... the WEB is
http://www.uady.mx/sitios/radio try many times cause sometimes it doesn't
work properly. The station is operating with the economic support of the Yucatan
State authorities. The station close at 0200 hours Mex time and open at 0600
hours Mex time. We got 2 MARCA PAGINA .... hi...no STIXs printed in past 2 years...
Next to be seen EXA FM 99.30 MHz ... a friendly police guard man make us
possible to pass to the reception located at Calle 60 N*451 entre calle 49 y
calle 51.... the receptionist searched for us stickers of EXA ..and found 3 !!!
good ....
From this moment the taxis strated to become very hard to be find... time o
clock around 1400 hours.... the SIESTA hour ??? don't know... but after 30
minutes to find one on the street we asked one via phone in an photo shop
situated in the corner street .... they kindly phoned for one for us free of
charge... very kind.... indeed.
So we arrived to MEDIOS ELECTRONICOS de MERIDA , located at Calle 62 N*508
operating the FAMOUS and quite misterious CANDELA FM 95.3 MHz i // 970 kHz
...and till 5 years ago also in // 6105 kHz .... but SW are now still inactive
(so you may finally cancel from your lists..this radio station..) same group
operates 930 kHz LA BARRACUDA
No chanche to get stickers ... not printed from a lot of years...
Next the big TELEVISA organisation and a real fortress ... located at Calle 60
N*385 entre calle 41 y calle 43.. again we met a friendly guard man who make us
posible to pass to the receptionist section... GRUPO ACIR stations : 97.70 MIX
FM + 98.50 LA COMADRE + 100.10 AMOR FM but this time bad luck .got only 2 from
LA COMADRE !!!!!..they had last week a big summer show and geave out almost all
materials ... so no chanche ... a real pity ..cause many taxis has the Radio
AMOR sticker on the glass of the car.... hhhmmmmm another research for
CrazyStixMonferin ???? Hi!!!
Another long research for a Taxi .... quite ennerving under a terrific sunny
.... cooking our body ... but finally we found one, so we arrived at Calle 33
N*513 entre calle 6 y calle 8 ... a nice Colonial building white painted in 2003
.... yes the building is owned by Radio Formula group 94.5 MHz called EXTASIS
FM in // 650 kHz , also 680 kHz FORO 680 ..... indeed very strange no LOGO
outdoor of the buildig.... but two big plastic with the datas of the radio
statiins..the nice young receptionist answered to our questions and said the
local email address to contact them is :

Apart the temperatures (look like to be in Dubai city ...hi!) we met lot of very
polite,kind,friendly people during our visit to the Merida stations....
So after a wait of 45 minutes a Taxi arrived ..called by secretary .... with
TAXAMETER of 17 $$$ Mex running... no idea if the Taxi started from ...Ciudad de
Mexico ...ha ha ha.
So we went to visit the Radio Capital group (this possible only thanks the
Mexican Commercial radio book ...340 pages !!!!) we got from first station we
visited today .... address is : Calle 7 N* 91 entre calle 20 y calle 22, Colonia
San Antonio Cinta , 97139 Merida...
Station is operating on 710 kHz (Ex Radio Hit Mexicana 2001 !!!) and 860 kHz (
Ex 1150 kHz !!!!!!) Capital 860 kHz (EX LA EXPLOSIVA de MERIDA)
Edgar Munoz offered to us lot of news... info... frienship... and we stay at the
station for 3 hours... also making a recorded interview he will put on the air
in coming days... to inform their listeners about this ..strange way to do the
holidays .... Visiting radio station in the world and collecting promo materials....
Power is just 1 kW on both frequency and they will be 5 kW full power from
September..... no Stixs at present ; i got permission to take one with old
slogan RADIO MEXICANA 710 kHz ...a rarity .... curiousely the Radio Capital 710
kHz LOGO remember the logo of RADIO CAPITAL CARACAS VENEZUELA also operting on
710 kHz .... while we were in the station studios suddenly the sky becomed DARK
look like at nighttime 1545 hours... a big storm arrived ...and in 45 minutes
descarged tons of water on the city ...
so we escaped from this KILOMBO.... and traffic stops cause many streets becomed
...look like RIVERS .... again thanks our kind Lady of Santa Maria de nuestra
Senora de Guadalupe ...
We got a Taxi ...also in this case after hundreds of phonecalls to find a TAXI
..... no doubts to find a taxi in Merida on friday afternoon is quite a hard
matter....
Sr. Edgar also told us the correct address of another station operating on FM
band: Radio SOLIDARIDAD 92.90 MHz station belong to IMER Avenida Itzaes y Calle
90 , EX Hospital O'HORAN, Gerente is Miss Laura Jarque ... Cause it is a NON
commercial station they are not listed in the Guide Mexican Handbook .....same
goes for the University Radio stations. They also identify as Radio Yucatan ....
A very particular station we learned is existing in the town of PETO (50 km from
Merida in the archeological area of Maya) is Radio LA VOZ DE LOS MAYAS on 730
kHz XEPET with 1 kW S/Off is at 2000 hours Mex time. They have programs in Maya
language .... the only one officially licensed station.
Well this picturing informations of the brodcasting media in Merida Yucatan ..do
not pretend to be 100 % correct... but almost is up to date.
We arrived back to our Hotel ... and luckly the elevator worked properly... the
kee opened the door ...and the water from the bath was quite cold ....
Around 1900 hours another big thunderstorm arrived on Merida with lot of Riders
and Relampagos ....
After dinner we moved at Bar La Habana again ...I tested a local Yucatan dessert
liquour called D'ARISTI ...very very sweet ...but not so alcoolicit is produced
with the Miele of BEE.... may be too much sweet....Espresso coffe at LA HABANA
bar of Merida resulted the best of our travel till now ....located at calle 59
n*311 con calle 62 .... also cyber cafe is perfect 24 hours open ... after 0100
local time no possible drink alcoolics... but an ICED Lemonade is Ok cause the
Hot Air .....
Tomorrow saturday the big JUMP from Merida to Mexico City and to Acapulco by
MEXICANA AIR .... so another quite thrilling day....

We are now in ACAPULCO the beautiful place in the Guerrero state...we arrived in
time after the Jet plane travel.... started at 1145 from Merida with partly
cloudy day ...the Merida Airport is little, clean, very well organized ... the
Merida-Mexico City travel Mexicana AIR resulted full of passengers .... and
landed with 10 minutes or laterness... this made some problems to transfer our
baggages to the other flight we needed to bring to arrive in Acapulco .... just
50 minutes to change flight... from 6 gate to 21 gate ... quite a walk .. but
... I had some prevident alert ...so I keep one of the two bags with me and just
sent ONE ....Roberto sent both 2 of his .... and at Acapulco arrival .... the
bad surprise ...our 3 bags did not arrived .... hi!!! like in Toronto 2 years
ago .... the Mexicana personnel assured the 3 bags should have arrived ......with
the following flight at 1830 ...but in reality we have not yet seen them ....

The Airport of Acapulco is 15 km from the city center ... and to have a taxi it
costs lot of money ..... 290 $$$ MEX .... 30 Euro one way .... however the TAXI
was with airconditioned ...
We choose to stay at Excalibur Hotel Avalon company .... we booked it with
Expedia Italy organisation with internet .... it has been a good choose ...

we got 16 floor room looking at the gulf .... it is shocking to see the
view from our room first time.... and at night is even more great

So at 1730 we go down at the private beach ...you may stay free and you get two
large towels.... Roberto wanted to test the Pacific Ocean ...and went to do a
bath with one of my bath cloth....she said to me the water is clean ..and not so
hot temperature as in Veracruz....but in a few meters you go deeper as 2 meters....
and if it is easy enter to go out you need all your efforts .... hi! I stay
under the sun ...till 1820 ...than suddenly arrived a front of black clouds and
strong wind ....annoncing a typical summer tropical storm .... in 10 minutes the
3000 people on the beach ...disappeared ...hi!! like a byblic ESODO .... in a
clouds sands confusion .... (however same happened the afternoon before today...so
it is not a question of a personal SFIGA ...hi!!!). The sand is not thin like in
Rimini ...they are little little stones ..not real sands.... but the strong wind
moved them all... together ..and the sensation on your body was not so good...hiFrom
the 16 floor we have seen the arrival of the tropical storm from north going to
south ....
I have not yet had time to cheak the FM-AM-SW band .... but I will do tonight on
the balcony .... yes we have a balcony ... from there the panoramic view ...is
..simply ... phantastic .... thousands of lights of the many hotels and shops
.... great place to be...
It seems the SS Senora of Guadalupe this time has not helped us .... but equally
we are sure the missing 3 baggages will be delivered to us ....
Sunday will be relaxing day ...almost for me ...hi..Roberto will go to Airport
to look at the baggage missing ....

heard // 9720).... most of the stations close at 0000 local time
I will try bit earlier...
We spent the sunday at the Hotel private beach .... the sun 10UV+ really so
burning ...so Roberto spent 2 hours in the sea... look like in Liguria ...you go
deeper just 5 meters ...and the water is warm and very clean compared to Italy....
The private beach is open 0900-1800 ...you have bar service ....but lot of free
sellers will persecute you the entire day ... trying to sell everything...plastic
GALEONS... crystal birds and delfini fish .... clothes.... cakes to eat...
everykind of food... icecream...drinking.... it's impossible to log here all the
items we have seen...even GIANT AMACA for Jeff White use .... a guard man
controlled the happenings on the beach ... but no swimming guard man ....the
water is full of motor ships .... rent to tourists... and also transports to the
ISLETA in the meaddle of the gulf....
Ufortunatly on the beach there is no BAD chair ...only normal chairs... and
naturally palmitos to be saved from the burning sun....
No doubts we are used to stand in Italian beach ...a bit more organized...
Well tomorrow we will see the ACAPULCO Radio ...

This is our second week in Mexico, and today monday we have visited the Acapulco
Radio stations.
Yesterday evening the internet multimedial office closed at 2300 hours so I had
to stop suddenly my report ... the multimedial room is air conditioned... and
with 3 PC and a FAX .... it cost 30 $$$MEX for 30 minutes .... but it is the
best way to do internet cause you don't need to go out .... the temperature in
Acapulco is 25-27*C day and night no difference ...humidity sensation is maximum...
We started our visit at 0930 .... the TAXI are mostly WOLFAGEN old MAGGIOLINO
DUDU ... but there are also TAXI de PRIMERA .... the cost of a ride is 20-30 $$$MEX
.... but be careful if you need to take the TAXI from Air Port or to go AIR port
the price is 290 $$$ MEX !!!!!!
Yesterday evening after our dinner buffet 120 $$$ MEX each (you may eat till
your estomac blow up !!!!! ) I eat Fettuccine alla panna and Spagnetti Bolognese
(both very well cooked) just ...to start ...hi
The worse Tropical storm arrived on ACAPULCO .... so much rain from our room it
was not possible to see the light of the gulf ....some tree has been put down by
the fury of the elements.... hundreds of lightnings-relanpagos .... really a
spectacular show .....
First to be seen Radio Rama Group.... located in a little Calle de la Paz 190 ,
Edificio Nick Centro, 2*piso.... we arrived in 15 minutes from Our Hotel AVALON
...taking the Avenida Miguel Aleman which cross all the coast .... (so we saw
some trees put down by the Tropical Storm) ....

Second to be seen Grupo Radio Acir located more to north at Avenida La Suiza 19
, Frecc Las Playas , Codigo 39390. Laura Aguilera Gerente de Operaciones , very
kind lady offered to us friendly informations about Radio La Comadre 600 kHz &
101.5 + Bonita FM 1070 kHz & 103.1 + Radio FELICIDAD 600 kHz, Mix FM 102.3 MHz +
LA NUEVA AMOR 98.50 & 710 kHz. At the moment they have MIX FM & LA COMADRE
stickers ...the ones of MIX FM are big and very nice !!!

This year ACIR is 40 years old !!!
So we continued to north of la grande Avenida Miguel Aleman we saw the
Pentagonal old fortress build by the conquistadores Spanish to defend the city
from Pirates... Acapulco has been for many years the sea port for the ships
coming from Filipinas, ans Asia ... and all the precious material from Acapulco
have to be transferred to Veracruz crossing the country via Mexico City .....
cause the Yankees had not yet cut the PANAMA channel.
So we arrived at MVS RADIO located at Calle Gaviotas 35 Fraccion Las Playas
39390 Acapulco .... they have a 3 floors home ... old place of defuncted STEREO
REY -GLOBO Brasil organisation.
They have 2 modern Music radio stations, EXA FM 99.3 & BEST FM 100.1 (not
becomed La Mejor as in the cities we have visited) both play good modern songs
and in the Acapulco area are listened more by young people ....
Jorge Mora Aranda the Director Artistico kindly show to us the studios at 3rd
floor (all modern equipments) and geave us 2 T-shirts of EXA FM and the stickers
of EXA FM (never printed the ones of BEST FM)
At 1145 we went back to the hotel cause we had to leave the room....
Now is sunny and very humid outside ...but inside the multimedios room of the
hotel is 15*c and nice ..... hi
Our flight to go Guadalajara AERO LITORAL is scheduled at 1535 so we have time
....
I think Acapulco is a real commercial turistic place ... there are hundreds of
Hotels ... so you don't need the luxury and chaotic Avalon Excalibur (to take
the elevator is always a fighting like in the stories of the Round Table in UK
...hi)
But if you search for a panoramic Hotel ...well you need this one...

Hallo dear friends .... I am trying again to send my message..first tentative
has been lost cause the PC suddenly stopped to work at the moment to send the
message ...I guess is a LINE problem ..probably the Hotel Plaza Genova utilize a
Cable connection like in Veracruz.... I try again....
Today Monday 8 August we had a good morning visiting the Acapulco radiostations....
we comeback to the AVALON EXCALIBUR HOTEL and at 1200 hours to leave the room...for
1300 hours...usual total caos at the lobby ...many many people .... but in 30
minutes we get the bill...hi..
So after 1 hour session at Internet room... we went to the Airport ... the TAXI
...a normal one this time costed only 200 $$$ Mex ... and we had also the time
to stop at the office of Radio Formula located in the main Avenida Escenario 300
metrs after the famous Restaurante CASANOVA.
But no luck ...at Radio Formula in Acapulco they don't have promotional items
... so we continued to the Airport ....
From the city there is also .... a bus service starting from the ZOCALO in the
Avenida Miguel Aleman ... it costs 30 $$$ MEX .... but it needs 90 minutes and
no air condioned service ... May be good standard for Giocchino Stallone Travel
Agency service in the Marsala area....
The Acapulco Airport is little,but very modern and with lot of shops duty free....
the flight AIR LITORAL utilize old service plane 2 motors of the IInd World War
... but it is okay... we were in 16 people in 32 places.... and it is the only
connection direct ACAPULCO-GUADALAJARA. We started in time with 27*C and we
arrived in time with cloudy and 22*C ... Guadalajara is 2500 meters above sea
level....My efforts to see the Volcano in the Colima area vanished cause loof
clouds .... a pity indeed.... the Volcano was reported to be active with smokes
....
The Taxi from Airport to the city center cost 170 $$ MEX ... and took about 30
minutes cause lot of traffic in the city ... but finally we arrived .... the
Hotel is 6 floors ...we have room at 5 floor...butnothing to see outside the
windows... cause more high building all around.... the Hotel has buffet dinner
service for 100 MEX $$$ (plus Liquor and coffee costs) Suddenly 30 minutes after
our arrival it started to rain (no storm) and temperature went down to 17*C ....
So we had buffet dinner... Spaghetti Carbonara .... very good taste .... and
after a Cognac glass and a burned Moka Espresso coffee... wearrived at the
commercial room ...open 24 hours..with 2 PC and a FAX... but this CABLE
connection ....
Tomorrow it will be and hard day to visit the many stations in the city ....

August it has been our best day in our Mexican adventure.... we has been able to
visit almost all the existing Radio FM-AM stations in Guadalajara ... all by
Taxi driving...one to the other....
Wake up at 0800 with breakfast buffet at Hotel Bestern Western Genova Plaza ....
for me some Ananas and PLATANOS !!!! some round cakes with lot of milk....for
Roberto even more ... homelet , tee green , some cakes and a toast ... but the
buffet was more large of plates .... but we don't use to eat so much as usually
does of friend Jeff White (200 kilos)....
Party cloudy ...but no rains clouds.... even if predictions aqnnonced storms in
the afternoon...
Our first station group DK RADIO of RADIO RAMA located in AVENIDA LAZARO
CARDENAS 3126 , Colonia CHAPALITA, 45040 GUADALAJARA stations 1250 XEDK RADIO +
1340 Radio Ranchito (musica pujante) ....but surprise ...at that address are
only the STUDIOS ...the marketing advertising is in another place ....
So we moved to our second Group to be seen :
ACIR GRUPO located in : AVENIDA LAZARO CARDENAS 2820 , 44520 GUADALAJARA
Stations : 93.1 LA NUEVA AMOR + 850 RADIO BONITA + 1370 SUPER DEPORTIVA .... our
efforts obteined just ONE sticker from LA NUEVA RADIO AMOR.....
So we visited the commercial service of RADIO RAMA GROUP... located in Avenida
de los Ninos Heroes 1555, 6*piso, oficina 602, Edificio PLAZA TOLSA COLONIA
MODERNA 44100 GUADALAJARA. we met the Arq. LORENZO ARCOS GARCIA factotum of SOL
RADIANTE operating on 1010 kHz and producer of program CAMALEON... he first
supposed we were a printing factory of stickers comimg from Italy to do an offer
....HA HA HA Explained the QUI PRO QUO .... he very kind geave us 2
PHANTASMAGORIC stickers of his program ....if you want to contact him the email

the sticker is an idea of Lorenzo ...and I may say is a real artistic sticker
really unusual !!!!
Need to say at same address used to be till 2 years ago the Radio Formula group

30 minutes for the Directora de Mercadotecnica de la emisora, she kindly

We got finally some nice stickers.

true campesinos....
Jose Luis Perez Gonzales nos atendio tan bien and with Italian language..."BENVENUTTI
!!!!" in the 70´s he lived in Perugia at the University of Languages ..... he
knows everything of the station address.... so we spent 90 minutes n a
TOURBILLON of meetings with of the staff,nanager .... ALL !!! this time so great
success cause...jose Luis got a Radio Vaticano sticker ..so he started to say I
was coming from Radio Vaticano.... really fun indeed. He show great interest to
the the listening hobby... and I show a copy of special issue celebrating the
Tampico Mexican meeting.... So we met the most important people at TELEVISA

In one of the offices we saw an old pennant FLAG of 820 kHz LA CONSENTIDA of the
60´s.... and we took a photo souvenir....We got also T-shirt 40 principales very
nice .....and stickers of some of the radio stations operating.
A very friendly meeting and thanks to Jose Luis kindness ...and really happy to
meet two Italian collaborators to VATICAN RADIO ...I given many Radio Vatican
stickers and also special souvenirs stamps of Padre Pio Monastere .....
We continued our visit and we arrived at MAXIMA FM 89.10. The station is located
at JUSTO SIERRA 2435 , Colonia LADRON DE GUEVARA , ...many TAXIs has the sticker
on the back glass window.... it was 1300 hours and unfortunatly the lanchtime
interval 1300-1500 hours... so at MAXIMA FM we found the guard man ...looking at
us with great suspicious ..we were ..may be gangsters... or "Carlos" friends ???
But inaspectately he bring to us some MAXIMA FM stickers !!! great
So we moved at RADIO FORMULA new address : AVENIDA MEXICO 3370 PLAZA BONITA,
LOCAL SUBANCIA "P" 45120 GUADALAJARA .... 790 CADENA FORMULA DOS (new name !!!)
+ 1230 !!!! (EX 1220 ) CADENA FORMULA UNO + 1280 CADENA FORMULA TRES .....
they are in this place from 2002 ...so get the information we suspected ...RADIO
RAMA has almost bought RADIO FORMULA in the entire country and it is
reorganizing these 3 stations....
Sr. Manuel de Jesus CRUZ (Locutor y Productor) helped a lot explaining some
FM-AM changes in Guadalajara ...and telling us the story of 1280 kHz for many
years known as RADIO MORENA 1280 kHz ....I must say so kind people is hard to
find if you visit Italian radio stations ....unfortunatly.
Next to be visited another big organisation GRUPO RADIO MEXICO located at
AVENIDA HIDALGO 2055 ESQUINA TOMAS DE GOMEZ,COLONIA ARCOS SUR, 44500 GUADALAJARA.
station operating : 1120 kHz LA POPULAR AM XEUNO (new name!!) + PLANETA 94.7 and
Z 107.5 both are modern music stations...
The receptionist very kind offered to us stickers and BEAUTIFUL T-shirts of LA Z
FM ...printed on both sides... red black ... the logo of the ZED is same of the
one in EEUU ...
Another good result ... our bag started to be full of many good souvenirs....
But unfortunatly the Bonanza stopped ... we visited Radio Capital 1410 kHz and
at 1515 hours is not good time the Manager was at lunch time with his crew....
Gregorio Preciado so we given to the guard man the Radio Capital sticker of the
Italian network as souvenir... still not printed stickers at Radio Capital group
.... They are located in Avenida Francia 1783 , Colonia Moderna, Sector Juarez
44190 GUADALAJARA.
One matter about street numbers... some times it may happen the numbers are not
in order... this is cause the burocracy in Mexico is high... and some factories
doesn't want to change numbers ...if new buikldings are built up in same
street.... so often the TAXI ability is very important.... we utilized 16
TAXISTS and only one "canuto" viejito with a crashtrashcar resulted unable to
use his bread ...cause totally inexistent....all the other good and
collaborative.... this is good and important if you are in a big time hurry...
Next we had a tentative at Grupo PROMOMEDIOS... located at Avenida Mariano Otero
3405 Fraccionamento Verde Valle 45060 GUADALAJARA.... but nothing to do ...the "encargado
de relaciones" not present cause lunch time ....
Stations of this group : 880 LA TRIPLE AAA + 1040 RADIO MUJER + 92.3 FIESTA
MEXICANA + FACTOR 91.50 + Millenium 105.1 ....some of them has stickers ...so
we agree with the GUARD MAN (very kind and friendly) to visit them again
tomorrow morning....
Next we visited an independent station SUPER STEREO 100.30 MHz belonging to
GRUPO IMAGEN ...located at AVENIDA UNION 162 PISO 10, DESPACHO 1003 , COLONIA
AMERICANA, 44140 GUADALAJARA.... the station has been active for 30 years ...and
is 5 year at this place... located at 10 floor is the the most high office of a
Radio .... surely the team of Super Stereo has been used to know the earthquakes
cause 10 floor is very high .... The Production Director Ricardo Mejia Rosas is
very interested to organize concerts live so if you want you may contact him at

He permitted to me to pick up from a book the large rectangular 2001
sticker for my collection...
We moved with another Taxi to see Radio NUEVA ERA GROUP located in AVENIDA PABLO
CASALS 567 ,Colonia PRADOS PROVIDENCIA , 44670 GUADALAJARA.... at this place are
located 89.9 MAGIA DIGITAL 99.5 ROMANCE FM (EX STEREO JUVENTUD) new name from
2005 + 700 DIAL 700 and 1070 RADIO JUVENTUS XESP ....we met by chanche a nice DJ
of MAGIA and she appreciated the Italian Stickers and she geave to us many from
MAGIA .... his name Miss VERONICA FAMOSO RODRIGUEZ .... she wanted to express
her pleasure with 2 friendly KISS .... and Roberto said (ohh yes in Italy we do
so ....and in FRANCE they do 3 kiss ...) I suppose Roberto remained .... a bit
STRANAMORE to see Miss Veronica 34 years old and ...blonde hairs.... Veronica
collect stickers of radio stations worldwide ...you may contact her to email

The next tentative .... did not given good results... ESTEREO 99 on 98.7 MHz ...Avenida
Salado Alvarez ,Sector Hidalgo, 44650 GUADALAJARA ...we arrived and .... a voice
under black glass said "ESTAMOS SERRADOS A LA TARDE" "SI QUIERES VISITENOS A LAS
0900-1300 manana......OK ..we will try this one tomorrrow morning....
So finally we arrived at EXA FM 101.1 and BEST FM 95.5 of MVS MULTIMEDIOS GROUP
..... located at AVENIDA NOVELISTAS 5199 ESQUINA CARLOS DICKENS, JARDINES
VALLARTA, 45110 GUADALAJARA... We got 4 EXA STIXS and ONE !!!! BEST FM window
sticker...sorry no one for ROBERTO...
This MVS stations are a bit depressing for us... rarely they geave up STIXs ...but
cars in the city are full of them .... ????? WHY ???
Next another "DARK STATION" Senal 90 on 90.7 .... Located at AVENIDA MEXICO 2289
/ 2 , 44100 GUADALAJARA .... we driinnnn the ring...and behins a plastic black
curtain a voice (look like the one of DARK MAN ) said "NO HAY NINGUNO" "PASE
MANANA POR LA MANANA" I guess such radio stations are a real BASURA ....
but in every big town unfortunatly there are and you can't do anything...
We closed our first day of NO STOP VISITING stations in GUADALAJARA with RADIO
UNIVERSIDAD 1045.3 MHz located at UNIVERSIDAD DE JALISCO in AVENIDA HERIQUE
DIAZ DE LEON, ESQUINA VALLARTA..... but a bad surprise ... the building is
closed for summer holidays...so no possible to enter... in fact the station play
non stop music ...
So at 1800 hours we went to the new BUS station of the city ...located on the
way to go to AIRPORT ...the TAXI cost 80-90 $$$ MEX .... we booked 2 tickects
for Puerto Vallarta for tomorrow wednesday 1415 hours.... the Bus station is
very modern, there are bath service for 3 $$$ MEX...the coffee cost 3.5 $$$MEX
.... and there is also a place you may put your baggages to be locked safely.
The Taxi driver to come back told us also other interesting informations a bus
ride cost 5 $$$ MEX , the 1 liter benzina for car (fuel) cost 0.5 Euro per liter
....
Look like the day before at around 1845 an hurricane started on the city ..with
rain and thunderstorm... the streets in few minutes becomed rivers and the
traffic collapsed... but our Taxi driver so good arrived to our Hotel ...
OHHH what a movie day .... many happenings ... many unespected things....
finally Guadalajara is a big city with 15000 TAXI !!!!
Tomorrow morning we will visit remaining stations...

Por fin puedo compartir nuestras experiencias .....
Hello !!!! after 2 days I may re strat our travel story,in fact the Hotel Rosita
is located ina very nice place.... his SUITE ROOM is very comfortable ...but ...but
the internet service stop to work at 2330 ......and so no possible to may send
the message ....same the following morning .... luckly now we are in MODERN
Hotel BEST WESTERN MORGAN FREEMAN (real name!!) and it is equipped with two PC
.... working very well (touch of my balls....ha ha ha) and FREE OF CHARGE !!!
GRATIS !!!! 24 hours....great service.
But pls first let me talk aboutour second day in GUADALAJARA...After the strong
AGUACERO de la tarde del lunes ....monday evening Hurricane .... we arrived at
Hotel GENOVA PLAZA BEST WESTERN just 5 minutes after he started ...and the
streets around hotel yet starting to be little ...rivers....hi!!!
Tuesday morning the sky resulted a bit cloudy ....but graduallysunshine and
sunpower +10Mv ... Guadalajara is 1500 mt above sea level (sorry for my
precedent wrong information) so look like to be at ABETONE in the Appennini in
Italy.... but clima quite humid.We started our visit to GRUPO PROMOMEDIOS (see
details in 18 message)we arrived yesterday too late....BUT ...Don Armandothe
guard man ..said the Gerente de Promociones did not yet arrived (0945hours) ...
we patiently wait ...30 minutes at the reception.... but no luck...a tentative
with the Reception...did not worked ... so we concluded GRUPO PROMOMEDIOS is
not interested to meet Italian people ... not in th afternoon.... not inthe
morning ....hi!!A pity they operate RADIO MILLENIUM 105.1 MHz the second classic
music radio station in GUADALAJARA....
Next to try again :SENAL90 on 90.7 MHz ...we found at ground level a lady
washing the enter steps ....(better say FLOODING the steps...) and at First
floor a LADY ...doing gardening of her own... and she said ...goupstair please
....so finally at second floor ...we found a very old man ... looking to an "HOMBRE
DE SENALE" but very kind and very surprised two Italians did know about his
belowed radiostation he started in 1979 ... his office with lot of medals,
prizes for programs...but sorry no stickers ...last printed in 1997 ... and
no visit cards ...no letter heads .... the station is no stop music ...May be we
are the last visitors ....
So we moved with an old TAXI driver.... (beware if possible of OLD TAXI DRIVERS)
often they are a bit ...KUKUUU.... so our taxi driver put our bodies at number
1658 of VALLARTA AVENIDA ...instead the 1458 as written on the paper we geave to
him at the boarding of his MACILENT taxi.... so we bring another one...and we
arrived at big building of 8 floors .... soon relaxed ...to see the logo of
Radio Canal 58 580 kHz.... but the wall enter door ...was spranghed ...ohhhh
JESUS (as they say in EEUU...) a paper said please enter other corner of the
buildin .... the enter low down for parking .... ok we do it ...so we needed to
keep the elevator to go at first floor .... but ..we suddenly arrived at 8 floor
.... back down.... we try again... this time we get ...7 floor .... MAD
ELEVATOR· #@#@#¬~@|#~?¬?¬?~#~@#~HA HA HA HA ..... so we opted for near floor 2
... OK we got it ...back by steps to first floor ...surprise ...no elevator stop

But can you really believe ....RADIO GUADALAJARA has moved !!!! 30 days before
.... to another place .... this informationwe got from a KIND Carpintero still
...demoliscing the walls of the studios ....
So we got new address :
Radio ABC 1440 kHz (ex Radio Guadalajara) and Radio Canal 58 580 kHz are C/o
EL PERIODICO EL OCIDENTAL located at CALZADA INDEPENDENCIA SUR 324, Colonia
Centro, 44100 GUADALAJARA.
This information is good for WRTH edition 2006.
More or less 300 meters from our HOTEL PLAZA GENOVA..... really incredible ....
So we finally found it....both stations are operating at 0600-0100 hours local
time (UTC -5) ...and ABC RADIO 1410 has got new call letters : XEABCJ (Ex XECCC)....
the studios are still under works ... so no stickers yet printed for Radio ABC...
but we got some of the old CANAL 58 logo.... after almost an odisseya...hi....
Time was running so we decided to visit the Jalisco Municipal Radio Television
called "SISTEMA JALISCIENSE DE RADIO Y TELEVISION" they are located ina big
building at AVENIDA CONSTITUYENTES 21, Nucleo Agua Azul,44190 GUADALAJARA.
No problem to enter,no control, no gorillas guard man (like in Spain)...welcome...
at first floor we met Maestro Jose' Gorostiza Ortega (Director de la radio) very
kind, very friendly.... he dedicated 30 minutes to our visit ...showing the
studios (630 kHz RADIARTE and 96.30 MHz Radio Sistema Jalisciense ) he geave
tous a paper info with the story of the station celebrating 60 years...on MW. I
given to him the report made by Adrian Petersen about the SW stations in Mexico
(a great work!!!) and he said he really has been searching for such informations...
We got some papers painted and with the station logo...
So this concluded our pleasant stay in Guadalajara ..a great city with many
radio stations... almost all very kind and friendly... you know there are always
some exceptions.... may be nexct time YOU will be there ...you will have more
lucky than qwe had.... but remembe open office is usually 0900-1300 and
1500-1900 .... but not fixed..
We had time to be back at good confort Hotel ...PLAZA GENOVA ... we really
suggest to utilize it... the restaurant is GREAT !!! they have SPAGHETTI
CARBONARA ...SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE .... SPAGHETTI Alla ARRABBIATA ....really like
to be ITALY ...
At 1425 our BUS for direct ride to PUERTO VALLARTA started ... expected time
toarrive at 1830 ... but do not forget to add ONE HOUR !!! yes the time in
PUERTO VALLARTA is one hour more respect GUADALAJARA ... BUS PRIMERA PLUS has
confortable large chairs...but the problem this time has been caused by the fact
one woman passenger needed tobe pickup ...on the CINTURON (the round high way
which circle the city) and the driver ... for 3 times ...had to find her ....
very strange system...which cause almost 45 minutes of laterness...
We climbed 3 mountains... (no exists galleries in the MEXICAN roads)and we had
also stop 34 Km before Puerto Vallarta .... so we arrived a bit cooked ...
dryied...and Roberto "furent" cause for 6 hours he did not had possibility to
smoke a cigarillo .... hi

So we arrived in Puerto Vallarta at 2005 hours... quite ..bored and even a bit
nervious ..... soon by TAXI to HOTEL ROSITA ... this is a *** stars FAMILIAR
hotel managed by Sr. JORGE de la TORRE and his 52 familiar components ... it is
the only Hotel which do not require Credit card for reservations... youmay do it
by email... The Hotel has many rooms looking at the sea 45 $$$MEX ... some BIG
GIANT SUITES at 90 $$ MEX the attracting WEB PAGE is OK

I don't want to doadvertising but .... if you search an Hotel with swimming
pool, quiet restaurant inside opentill 2300... and good place to try MW from
WEST COAST EEUU ...this is yours...
We needed to stay one night ...so we had the SUITE 2 ... great looking of the
bay ... with many relampagos (riders) on the far frontside of the large gulf
of Puerto Vallarta ...manytimes visited by Pirates for sone centuries.... now
BIG FERRIES or GIANT EEUU ships are arriving here ...tostop some days onthe way
to ACAPULCO..
Indeed the coastials road on the PACIFIC coast are a disaster ...and oftenit is
sufficenta strong AGUACERO ... to make climb anhill ..like at Km47 before Puerto
Vallarta toloose 50 minutes ....
After the dinner ...the only strange has been to see 3 little ARANOS -LUCERTOLA
onthe wall corner near our table .... hi...I tried to do Internet ...cost 15 $$$
MEX for 1 hour .... but suddenly at 2330 it stopped to work... nothing todo ...
same situationinthe morningat 0800 hours .... ok... may be onlyjust a question
of unlucky moment ....
Television offered channel 69 ...VENUS TV ..but naturally scrambled and ...with
a black mascherade on...hi .... really unusual... hi
However we were so tired we soon sleep inthe giant suite ... 3 beds for each one
of us to sleep...hi !!!!
At 0600 hours I wake up and I doa MW Band scan... utilizing as SOURCE the one
done by famous Dxer Don Moore ... done in november 2001 in Guadalajara
